ANo, you cannot. Although TabiMO electric scooters are compliant with safety standards in accordance with the revised law, they cannot travel on sidewalks because they are not equipped with a flashing green light and a speed limit function. Please walk your electric scooter on sidewalks.

QHow old do I have to be to ride an electric scooter?

AThe service is available to people 16 years of age and older.

QCan I drop it off?

ANo, you cannot. Please be sure to return it to the port where you rented it.

QWhat should I do if I need to leave the electric scooter when shopping or eating?

AWhen you leave the electric scooter, the electric scooter will be locked, provided that you set it to a temporarily parked state using the web app. The usage time will elapse even while locked. Please be careful.

QWhere can I park?

AElectric scooters are subject to parking violations. Parking on the roadway or sidewalk is a traffic offense. Please park your electric scooter in the areas shown on the Port & Neighborhood Parking Map or in the car parking spaces or bicycle parking spaces of the facilities you are using. Parking is only allowed in areas where the facilities you are using have permitted parking.

QCan I pay the rental fee in cash?

ANo, you cannot. The rental fee is automatically calculated by the web app based on the time used. Please pay by credit card or PayPay at the end of the ride.

QWhat should I do if I have an accident?

AAs in the case of an automobile accident, if there are any injured people, please give them first aid and contact the police immediately. After that, call the emergency number (insurance company) posted on the vehicle for accidents. An operator will respond.

QI would like to know about insurance.

AIn addition to compulsory automobile liability insurance, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance will be the underwriting company for unlimited liability for bodily injury and 10 million yen for property damage. In the event of an accident that is covered by insurance, the user will be responsible for the cost of various arrangements calculated based on the insurance premiums.

QWhat should I do if I have a traffic violation or a problem with my electric scooter vehicle?

In order to ensure the safe use of TabiMO, the following actions are prohibited.

  • • Riding on sidewalks
  • • Riding on the wrong side of the road
  • • Riding in parks and on private property
  • • One-handed riding, including using a smartphone or holding an umbrella while riding
  • • Riding with more than one person, including carrying a child on your back
  • • Dangerous riding, such as speeding down slopes or making sudden maneuvers
  • • Riding under the influence of alcohol
  • • Subletting
  • • Riding while listening to music, etc.
  • • Parking on streets where parking is prohibited (parking violation and subject to penalty)
  • • Riding with concealed license plates
  • • Carrying on public transportation
  • • Dangerous riding and other prohibited acts other than the above
  • Please wear comfortable clothing when riding.
    Please be careful not to wear long skirts or other long clothing, high heels, sandals, or other shoes that expose the skin.
    Please refrain from riding in long clothes, especially those that touch the ground.

Violating traffic rules constitutes a breach of the Road Traffic Act and may result in penalties. If such is found to be the case, the police will be notified, the service will be suspended, or the account will be terminated. Please follow the rules for a safe and comfortable ride.
